Volunteers
Northland Christian desires to create an environment where volunteers serve the school in the unique ways that God designed them, bringing fulfillment to the worker, aid to the school, fellowship to the school community and glory to the Father in the process. To accomplish this goal, our school has organized an equipping ministry to connect volunteers. The equipping concept can be distinguished from the typical volunteer model in schools with one simple statement: It’s about fulfilling people, not filling slots. With the equipping team concept, volunteers serve in an area where they are passionate (because God has gifted them) and are encouraged to stick to service in those areas that are a good match for them.
The focus is different too with the equipping model. Rather than just seek to complete the task, team members are encouraged to develop relationships and look for opportunities to serve each other in the process of serving the school. The idea is that people will feel joy as they serve and will not become burdened or overworked by working in areas that don’t fit with their unique gifts.
One of the keys to a successful independent Christian school is having everyone involved in providing ministry and service throughout the year. Northland Christian has a group of volunteer teams that will accomplish two things:
- Give each parent the opportunity to serve using their gifts and passion
- Provide extraordinary care to our school, staff and students as we serve
