I also viewed this as a way to contribute to our community through Northland Christian.”

Shane is a realtor with Keller Williams KC North and the Eric Craig Real Estate Team in Smithville. Shane said that he felt called to serve on the board because “There is an immense need in our culture for schools that will teach and model a biblical worldview. In light of that reality, I can’t imagine many weightier tasks than to serve on this school board. I’m humbled by the opportunity to play a role in securing a sound education, grounded in the truth of Scripture, for so many children in the Kansas City northland area.”
Sherri is married to Bob, and they have three children, Luke, Hannah, and Molly. Her daughters are graduates of NCS and her husband, son, and son-in-law have both been involved with coaching at NCS. She has one grandson and another on the way! She and her husband attend Revolution Church. Sherri has been part of NCS since its inception in 2006. Sherri said she felt called to serve on the board because “I love this school and it has been a gift to our family. With a strong desire to see students and their families surrendered to Jesus and becoming all He’s called them to be, it seemed a worthy endeavor to champion Kingdom Education and offer whatever I have to see this school be able to serve as many families as He gives us. May Northland Christian always boldly proclaim His truth and forever testify of His goodness and faithfulness!” Sherri volunteers weekly at the NCS Welcome Center.

I want my children to know Jesus and be able to follow Him and lead others to Christ. I believe that NCS is there to partner with my family and my church to do that.” He and his company established the Lil' Red Foundation.
Janette has been married to Scott for over 30 years and they have one son, Matthew and daughter-in-love Vanessa. Janette and her husband attend and serve at Discover Church. They have been a part of Life Christian Academy since 2002 when Matthew started kindergarten and later graduated from NCS in 2015. Scott served as a NCS board member at the time of its inception until 2016. Janette has served in many volunteer roles at NCS over the years and was on staff as the school nurse for the 2022-2023 school year. Janette said she felt called to the board because, "Our family has been so blessed by the school over the years we have been a part of this community as we have prayed, served, and developed lifelong friendships. I have a heart for Kingdom Education and discipleship. I pray that each student and family at NCS experiences a life changing and deep relationship with Jesus that is strengthened as we sharpen each other through our school community. I am humbled to be serving on the board and rely on the Lord for guidance as I serve."
Tammie is married to Lamar, and they have three children, Kyle, Cordell, and Connor. Cordell and Connor are both graduates of NCS. Tammie and Lamar have six grandchildren. She and her husband attend The Calling Community Church in Platte City, MO. Their family has been part of NCS since 2007. Tammie is self-employed, supplying small businesses with office and bookkeeping support. Tammie said she felt called to serve on the board because “My children were attending NCS at the time and I was so grateful for the biblical education they were receiving and the godly role models in their lives. I desired to serve the Lord in a capacity that I knew was making a kingdom difference in the lives of children and youth, my children as well as others. What greater work is there than to focus on building godly character into them while providing a rigorous education that equips them for life? Several years before my involvement on the board I had prayed that God would allow me to be part of something bigger than myself. He answered my prayer through NCS, as I have seen the tremendous and powerful hand of God at work in this school.”
John has been married to Julie since 1986, and they have two children, Sam and Sadie. Sam, his wife Collins, and Sadie are all graduates of NCS. John and Julie have two grandchildren. They also have five great nieces and nephews attending NCS. He and his wife attend Outreach Christian. John co-founded NCS in 2006, and has ties to Life Christian Academy dating back to 1999. When asked why he felt called to serve on the board, John said “My involvement in LCA and NCES is a total God thing. I could have never accomplished where we are today, nor would I have ever tried, had God not called and led me to serve Him this way.” He also wanted to leave this word: Christian parents are called to "train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it" Proverbs 22:6. We must do everything we can (should) so that we can say, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth” 3 John 1:4.
